UBER has arrived in Edinburgh

HUZZAH!!

Uber has arrived in Edinburgh! Have you heard of Uber? Well for those who haven't then you simply must check this out!

Their website states;
"Uber is evolving the way the world moves. By seamlessly connecting riders to drivers through our apps, we make cities more accessible, opening up more possibilities for riders and more business for drivers. From our founding in 2009 to our launches in hundreds of cities today, Uber's rapidly expanding global presence continues to bring people and their cities closer."

This Uber cheap (see what I did there?) cab company is working in 64 countries, and finally at last reaching us in Bonnie Scotland. I used the company a lot whilst living in New York and luckily it launched on the eve of Christian McLeod show in Glasgow, the difference in price for a cab back to Edinburgh was quite considerable, we were quoted £125 and Uber only charged us £60. Winner!

Last night it launched in Edinburgh and I for one am a happy little Bunny... or Bear even!

It is a simple app where your phones GPS system will pick up where you are then you add your chosen destination and then hit 'get fare estimate' and Boom! Simple as that, you can even see you little car on your Uber app get closer to you on you map, with updated times of arrival and your drivers name, picture and license plate number. No cash needs to exchange as Uber will deduct the fair once you have reached your destination from either your paypal or you bank account. Perfect!

Hello Glasgow..

Today I  am in Glasgow for a 'Glenfidich' Event with my girl Miss Kelly Bakewell.
As two ladies not to waste an opportunity to maximize a day , we booked ourselves for a facialplanned a lunch and then do a little shopping. Well I say 'we' booked in for a facial , I actually mean Kelly booked us in ! Sadly I must admit I have never been for a facial before. Not to be a dick but I  have been blessed with pretty good skin so I guess I have just taken it for granted and really not bothered too much about all the fancy facey things! Of course telling Kelly this over drinks , she looked like she was about to slap me into next week when I told her my beauty routine (wash face, slap cream on).

Anyway we met at Savannah Beauty Centre at Menzies Hotel and had a facial and head massage. Cant believe at my age (a very young age! Shhh) I have never done this before, it is crazy! This my little bunnies is not, repeat NOT a luxuryit is a fundunking necessity, I'm being total serious! I felt awesome after.

Jamie worked wonders
after a long night of little sleep ( not a story for here*wink wink*) I was super relaxed and ready to take on the day.

As we were leaving the girls gave us numerous candles to smell and we picked our favourite.. We both chose Happyness! Thank goodness right! Ha Anyway the delightful Miss Bakewell bought me the  Neom organic Intensive Mood Lifting scent in 'Happy' ..ahhh bliss!

Then it was off to Blow in Finneston to watch Kelly get her mint green roots done. Whilst sitting writing this I was treated to a lovely candy cocktail and some yummy popcorn, thanks to the lovely ladies of Blow for letting me plug in and set up shop whilst there!

After that it was a quick Uber (check my post on Uber if you haven't used it, you must!) off to Merchant City to check some of their thrift shops. I bought the most gorgeous and very Bear like fur coat and Kelly nabbed a mint green Ted Baker coat.. it was a thrift haul Haven!

That just leads me to sign off and tell you to look out for my post about the Glenfich event soon.

OOTD - Tuesday 3rd November

Well after a mild weekend, the autumn/ winter weather has definitely kicked in!  I woke up today in Glasgow. Looking out my window at The Crown Plaza Hotel, there was a mist over the Clyde. It is fricking cold today!

I am prepared though!*smugface* After my month long sober streak I have lost some unwanted weight. Thankfully in time to fit into all my glorious winter clothes!  Winning!

Today's outfit comprises of a mix of vintage and new.
I spent the last four years on and off in New York and love the thrift shops out there. My favourite store is The Salvation Army Warehouse which is tucked away in in Bedstuy, Brooklyn.  I found these gorgeous DKNY high waist loose pants, which are so comfy, and have enough room to tuck my H&M basics sweater (£9.99) in, adding my vintage Kangol Hat (£12.99) and Brooklyn Market lace ups ($10).

My cropped vintage style Motel jacket I found on Ebay for 99p and I have saftey pinned my faux fur scarf to it (so it stays in the right place). Love a safety pin.. Have you seen my Top tips videos? on my YouTube channel, be sure to check them out...

Kestin Hare - Fright Night

Last night I bro'd out! Myself, Paul,  Gary and Nick headed to Kestin Hare for their 'Fright Night' party at their store on Edinburgh's George Street
I like the store its in the basement, good clean clean space and well set out. We of course arrived  fashionably late, and were greeted to some fabulous drinks provided the guys from Sygn Bar. (Yup thats Ross from Sygn bar photo bombing with the yellow card!)
They bottle their own 'Twisted Classic' cocktails in house! Nice! Since I'm still on Sober October I stuck to the water, but the boys were straight in. There was a very blue looking drink, cheekily called 'Blue WKND' *see what they done there! Also  'Tuttio Swettio' Botanist gin flavored with swizzles drumsticks syrup, poppy liqueur and citric acid! Not only did Sygn provide drinks, they provided the sustenance too! Burger and Sliders! The food was eaten too quickly to get a photo, but trust me it was delish! Ha!
Apart from the food and drinks, we scoped the shop out and Gary and Nick took a shine to some sunglasses, its never NOT the season for great sunnies!

Big thanks to Fletch at Kestin Hare for looking after us and providing me with some good old fashioned council pop! ( H20 yo!)

Fashion TV- finally!

With so many fashion and design shows on our screens it seems about Time we had our own channel right? Well its taken its sweet time, but finally we will be able to have a whole channel dedicated to Fashion, thanks to Apple TV.
Made to Measure  will be one of the many channels  available when the new Apple TV box launches in  December.  The company have already bought the rights to footage from runway shows from top designers as well as show casing 'fashion' documentaries such as Tom Fords  'A Single Man ' and 'Valenino: The Last Emperor'
'Tea at the Beatrice' will be a show aired on M2M a series with GQ's 'The Style Guy' Glen O'Brein interviewing a host of fashions elite.

M2M will not just be broadcasting they are producing also.  'The Battle of Verailles - a Documentary' will be high on the list of my ones to watch!

If you haven't heard about THAT famous fashion show in '73, then keep your eyes peeled for my Fashion Hero posts coming soon!

Balmain x H&M - full collection

Well never have I been more excited for an H&M collaboration than this one!
Balmain for H&M will be hitting the shop floors this Friday and I for one predict a RIOT!
Creative director Oliver Rousteing who took over Balmain 4 years ago at the tender age of 25, yes Twenty goddamn five! Has managed to bring Balmain to the fore front of every woman fashion wish list . Wowzers what an inspiration to all you young fashionistas right?
Reading his interview in Dazed and Confused Oliver states  "If you want people to feel good in your clothes, you have to feel good creating your clothes" "My work days are dreamy days. For me, the essence of Balmain is happiness." Well hes one lucky guy who gets to go in everyday to work and create beautiful dresses for woman who adore his designs.
Reading his interview in Style magazine Oliver the prices for the Balmain pieces "are not a price everybody will be thrilled about" but as he carries on to say " its not the normal fashion you expect from H&M"
Personally I would have to agree, but cant quite fully commit until I see and touch the quality of the clothing myself.
With dress prices starting from £119.00 ( the green Sequin dress) climbing to £399.99 for the embellished dress, we hope this must anticipated collection everything a girl could wish for and more from Balmain.
